Extension of Kochi Metro Rail Project to Nedumbassery

The study regarding the expansion of the Cochin Rail Project has been undertaken by Rail India & Economic Service (Rites). Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) has given green signal for a study of its future expansion. The first expansion phase of Kochi Metro rail project is to Thripunithura. Around Rs.5000 crores costs the construction of this phase with a length of 25.253km from Aluva-Thripunithura.

From the study of Kochi Metro Rail, suggests an expansion from Aluva to Angamaly via Nedumbassery airport. This makes Nedumbassery boom into the field of real estate also the expansion of International Airport makes that too. Flats, apartments, villas and residential projects are quickly emerging to Nedumbassery because of the extension of metro rail projects to here. Flats in Nedumbassery bring pride to the owners as possessing an apartment or flat near to Nedumbassery is also considered as a good investment. Thus the two modes of transport come in parallel thereby changing the face of Cochin.
